Job Description Summary
Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.
Roles and Responsibilities
Site focal for programming of CNC/NC Lathes, Mills, Grinders and other machines. Includes Live Tooling technology.
Define new programs from models for new product development and modify existing programs to increase machine productivity and part quality.
Troubleshoot existing programs for improvements.
Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing.
Proficient in shop math , blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerances
Experience in machining and fixturing required to machine parts.
Experience in the use of Unigraphics to create programs.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Note: To comply with US immigration and other legal requirements, it is necessary to specify the minimum number of years’ experience required for any role based within the USA.
