Title: Steam Power Sourcing Specialist Internship/Co-Op –Summer 2022

If you have a passion for operations and want a career in Sourcing, we want you! As a Steam Power Co-op/Intern we will prepare you for an exciting career, tackling one of the world’s toughest challenges of providing cleaner, more accessible energy.

As a Co-op/Intern, you will:

  • Gain knowledge and expertise in the following Strategic Sourcing areas: Supplier Negotiations, Cost Out, Process Improvement, Supplier Relationships, Data Analysis.

  • Receive mentorship and coaching from a world-class team of experienced Sourcing Professionals.

  • Impact Key Performance Indicators such as: On Time Delivery (OTD) and Contribution Margin (CM)

  • Collaborate with and learn from other key Steam Power Functions such as Engineering, Tendering, Finance, Project Management, Quality.

  • Sourcing interns in Steam Power experience challenging assignments in the power generation industry focusing on the supply of various commodities: Castings, Structural Steel, Valves, Electrical Equipment, Motors & Drives, Pressure Parts, and more.

Responsibilities include :

Developing cross-departmental processes that strengthen the way we work as a team. Working with team members to understand concepts like competitive bidding and commercial negotiations and utilizing those concepts to put Steam Power in the best position to deliver a quality product on time to our customers. Analyzing KPI data and utilizing it to improve the way we track and drive progress.

Potential Locations Include:

  • Windsor, CT; Atlanta, Georgia; Remote US

Relocation Assistance:

Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

Housing Allowance:

Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.

EMPLOYMENT DATES:

  • January to May 2022(Spring)

  • May/June to August 2022(Summer)

  • August to December 2022 (Fall)*Co-Op opportunities to be staffed and defined as applicable

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must have one to two semesters left prior to graduation and be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below.

  • Following majors accepted: Business Administration/Management/Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics.

  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).

  • Must submit your application for employment through https://www.ge.com/university

  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process

  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

  • Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business

  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
