General Electric Finance Transformation Programs Leader in Norwalk, Connecticut

Job Description Summary

We are looking for a senior individual contributor to manage/lead our next generation of finance transformation which will focus on:

*Financial Planning and Forecasting - streamlining data capture, improving granularity of data and advancing automation at Tier 1 and Tier 2 business segment level.

*Connected Planning - Drive transformation cross-functionally to better align operating systems and financial planning/forecasting systems.

Align actuals consolidation and financial planning/forecasting capabilities for best in-case analysis/analytics.

*Drive projects to stay on supported software/hardware, including upgrading products like Oracle HFM and Hyperion Planning to Cloud/SaaS equivalents.

Overall, this role will include program ownership, roadmap and execution across several programs that will mature financial systems capabilities across GE. With an initial focus on financial forecasting and connected planning, you will work to identify automation, technology, and data/analytics opportunities along with the execution of a multi-year maturity plan.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role you will:

  • Perform IT program management responsibilities for implementing Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) technology, close/plan automation and other areas of technology in the Finance space.

  • Partners with Finance functions to define critical success criteria and strategic roadmap

  • Develop multi-year IT strategy, maturity model and roadmap to execute high-impact finance transformation initiatives

  • Single accountable party for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic program

  • Accountable for multiple, large-scale initiatives including business, operational, and IT deliverables

  • Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost, and quality parameters. Be accountable for operational excellence of programs.

  • Utilize agile project management methodologies to drive continuous innovation and improvement

  • Accountable for communicating strategy, tactical plans, and status against planned activities to execute program responsibilities

  • Defines and tracks program milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan

  • Develop peer, cross-functional and cross-GE business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness

  • Partner with software vendors and consulting organizations to drive program execution, issue resolution and future product enhancements; manage/monitor success criteria and performance with partners

  • Benchmark external best practices in the finance transformation space; incorporate learnings into overall maturity model

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Engineering or other technical related fields

  • Minimum 9 years working with enterprise application implementations (preferably in financial / operational systems)

  • Minimum 5+ years of demonstrated project or product management experience

Technical Skills Needed:

  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and/or industry activities

  • Extensive knowledge of financial systems, financial close and forecasting cycles and processes

  • Program/Project Management Skills (managing detailed plans, multi-year product roadmaps, vision/strategy)

  • Experience implementing, administering or using Oracle EPM Cloud products (particularly Oracle PBCS and Oracle FCCS) is desired

  • Experience implementing, administering or using products like Hyperion Planning, Dodeca and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) is nice-to-have

  • Able to demonstrate financial systems expertise across transactional ledgers, consolidation tools/technology and financial planning/reporting tools

  • Excellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization

  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources; has experience working with others on a global basis; applies knowledge to coach and mentor others

  • Strong analytical and strong problem solving skills - communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve; creates actionable strategies and operational plans

  • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements; champions and drives change initiatives; confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of customers, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape solution

  • Eligibility:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 20%, depending upon the location this person resides.

  • LOCATION: Must be willing to work out of an office located in Norwalk, CT, Cincinnati, OH or Boston, MA or Van Buren, MI
