Job Description Summary
North American Life and Health (NALH) is the reinsurance business unit under GE Aerospace’s Corporate Holdings; primarily focused on Long Term Care (LTC) and Life reinsurance segments. The NALH Investment organization manages a diverse asset portfolio of $45B to support reinsurance obligations.
The Director – Investment Data Strategy and Management is a key role within NALH Investment organization, reporting to the Director – Head of Investment Operations. This role will lead overall investment data strategy including design, development and continuous improvement of NALH investment data infrastructure and processes. Responsible for data integrity/governance and seamless flow of investment information across the organization. This role will engage with key external (including bank custodians, investment managers, investment data/risk analytics platforms) and internal stakeholders (including Investment, Finance and Risk) to develop and drive optimal workflows, automation and operational excellence across various processes and workstreams.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead the overall investment/asset data strategy including design, development and maintenance of an integrated investment data operating model; enabling seamless flow of investment information across the organization along with detailed “drill down” analysis, filtering, and future scalability
Oversee consistency and integrity of investment data from a variety of sources including multiple custodians/investment managers and investment data/risk analytics platforms by maintaining a strict data dictionary; and building a library of commonly used asset metrics within the integrated data model and through implementation of controls and reconciliation processes. Ensure accurate, complete and on-time availability of investment data reporting & analytics
Lead development and maintenance of core investment data production reports, analytics and dashboards (including portfolio holdings, weekly transactions, advanced investment metrics etc.) for downstream investment, financial and risk reporting and related processes
Own relationships with various investment data/risk analytics platforms; serve as a liaison between external partners and NALH internal teams
Supervise ad hoc investment analysis and reconciliation intended to support asset modeling, investment/financial reporting, and other internal downstream processes
Coordinate with internal stakeholders (including but not limited to: Investment Management, Treasury, Investment Accounting, Finance, Risk) and external partners (e.g., investment data/risk analytics platforms, investment accounting provider, bank custodians, etc.) to lead and/or facilitate strategic initiatives related to investment data/analytics
·Supervise and mentor 1 senior investment data analyst
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent
7+ years of experience in the financial services industry; 2+ years of experience in investment analytics, financial systems and process design and/or market/investment risk
Working understanding of financial markets and instruments, including security reference data and attributes. Familiarity with fixed income reference data and risk analytics preferred
Familiarity with an investment data/risk analytics platform such as Blackrock Aladdin and an investment accounting platform such as Clearwater
Advanced technical skills, including proficiency working with large data sets, and understanding of data management principles
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively across the organization, as well as with external partners and vendors

Desired Characteristics
CFA or progress towards a CFA designation a plus
Demonstrated experience designing efficient business processes and related tools to optimize workflows; reduce manual effort; and mitigate potential errors.
Proven to be effective driving outcomes in large, matrixed organizations – understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, relationships, etc.
Highly collaborative person, comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change
