General Electric Systems Analyst in Norton Shores, Michigan

Role Summary:

The Systems Analyst is responsible for the technical solution and technical specification documents for IT projects and user support. The Systems Analyst works in collaboration with IT Business Analysts, the Director of IT and business Subject Matter Experts for the delivery of IT project solutions and user support. The Systems Analyst works directly with developers of all technical disciplines for development, testing, implementation and support of IT project solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with IT and business users to design technical solutions for IT project requests

  • Author technical specification documents for implementation and as-built reference

  • Assists in preparing cost benefit analyses

  • Manage lifecycle of leased IT equipment including desktops, laptops, servers and printers

  • Administer Local IT Help Desk and provide first-pass solutions

  • Facilitate new-user setup and process existing-user access requests

  • Oversee development of IT solutions

  • Coordinates functional and integration testing

  • Facilitates Quality Assurance and User Acceptance testing

  • Collaborates with IT staff in development of production release plans

  • Support development team in researching and / or overseeing production issues in existing suite of applications

  • Administer and monitor servers

  • Administer network-related hardware and requests Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum one year Oracle Database / SQL experience ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.   • Windows / Linux / Solaris Server and Networking background

  • Minimum one year internship working in a medium / large manufacturing business

  • Minimum one year Java experience

  • Experience working effectively with a development team
