General Electric Mechanical Engineer - Product Definition in Noida, India

Job Description Summary

As a member of the Nuclear Product Engineering - Product Definition team, collaborate with different product disciplines inside New Nuclear Engineering, design and develop products, solutions and systems, by delivering product definition output on time and on quality. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Product definition in tender phase :

  • To define the products 3D model in collaboration with thermal/process & mechanical engineering,

  • To emit interface documents necessary at this stage such as outline drawings for customers & manufacturing references for cost estimation with suppliers,

  • Propose design cost-out solutions

  • Product Design in execution phase :

  • Achieve on time delivery for 3D models, 2D drawings and BOM, ensuring all input data (customer & partners) are well considered, as drafter and/or reviewer,

  • Ensure product design is satisfying internal design rules / instructions, directives, codes & standards, and customer specifications,

  • Perform studies to support mechanical calculations and manufacturing needs,

  • Elaborate proper assembly and erection sequences with dedicated partners,

  • Perform accessibility and ergonomic studies for maintenance and manufacturing,

  • Elaborate design of special tools,

  • Ensure Lesson Learnt/REX are incorporated into the design

  • Train/Develop on products definition tools:

  • Develop 3D parametrized model and related bills of materials,

  • Elaborate harmonized rules and methodologies to better foster collaboration between Heat Exchangers and Product Definition Teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree

  • 5 – 10 years experience in engineering in industries such as Oil & Gas or Nuclear (preferred)

  • Experience in engineering of power plants,

  • Experience in pressure vessels design including interfaces with manufacturing workshops,

  • Significant experience in the use of CATIA V5 & Autocad CAO tools applied to industrial product design 3D modelling.

  • Experience in mechanical components design such as forged parts, machined parts, welded assemblies, etc.

  • Experience on mechanical equipment and structures

  • Experience in MS Excel: Visual basics or others

  • Knowledge in materials standards (ASME, EN, GB), in standard mechanical parts selection (bolts, gaskets, etc.) and in sophisticated mechanical components selection (bellows, dampers, rollers, spring boxes, etc.)

  • Knowledge in mechanical and thermal basic principles,

  • Significant experience in elaborating manufacturing drawings and in interfacing with manufacturing workshops,

  • English fluent
