Job Description
We are seeking a talented Component Heat Transfer Technology Manager who is a passionate people leader and experienced researcher. As the Component Heat Transfer Technology Manager, you will be responsible for growing a team of world-class fluid-thermal researchers, creating and driving the technology strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and supporting our GE Aerospace business, government customers, and strategic partners.
In this role, you will partner with the Technology Director of Aero Thermal and Mechanical Systems to lead a team of technologists who are innovating fluid-thermal technologies. Your team will be focused on exploiting conduction, convection, and radiation to manage component thermal loads and stresses in extreme environments. This work is vital to future commercial and military aerospace systems, including avionics, advanced propulsion systems, aerospace power generation, and vehicle systems.

Essential Responsibilities:
As the Component Heat Transfer Technology Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of fluid-thermal technologists at various experience levels, including interns, early through late career researchers, and technicians. In addition to developing and coaching team members on career paths, project management, Lean principles, and more, you will also be responsible for championing an open and collaborative environment to foster cross-discipline teaming.
To ensure the safety and compliance of lab spaces, you will drive EHS safety standard operating procedures and best practices, security compliance, and collaborate with leaders and technologists across GE Aerospace Research to continuously improve our culture of safety and compliance.
You will work closely with the Technology Director and staff, GE Aerospace Research leadership, GE Aerospace partners, and key customers to develop the vision, strategy, and roadmaps for fluid-thermal component technologies in the aerospace ecosystem. Additionally, you will establish and grow strategic relationships with GE Aerospace partners and the external community.
To advance the team's ability to accelerate innovation and create technical differentiation for GE Aerospace, customers, and partners, you will execute a recruiting and hiring strategy to attract and retain diverse world-class technical talent. You will also champion all relevant modeling, simulation, and test capabilities for component heat transfer to drive technical differentiation and innovation for future applications.
To support the team in project execution and technology transition, you will champion operational excellence, identify and mitigate risks, and support root cause/corrective action plans when necessary, while driving continuous improvement through standard work, key performance indicators, and process improvements.
Finally, as a key member of the GE Aerospace Research people leader community, you will actively participate and contribute to this community, helping to build a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience in thermal management, fluid-thermal systems, or closely related discipline.

Desired Characteristics:
Doctorate in a relevant technical discipline.
Willingness to obtain active US Government Secret Clearance with ability to attain a Top-Secret Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $240,000 USD annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
