General Electric Security Platform System Engineer in Niskayuna, New York
Job Description Summary
As a Security System Platform Engineer you will be responsible for the design, installation, programming, management, maintenance, performance and reporting metrics associated with physical security system platforms. You must ensure that all platforms, including the associated documentation, standard operating procedures and training, are current with business and regulatory standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design access control, intrusion detection and CCTV systems through the use of CAD in accordance with regulatory, industry and business standards.
Conduct the requirement gathering in the design and maintenance of systems
Manage the installation, programming and maintenance of access control, intrusion detection and CCTV systems coordinating with facilities personnel and third-party suppliers.
Manage the visitor management system to include all hardware, system features, oversight of programming, personnel training, and standard operating procedure.
Support organizational security platforms maintained by third party suppliers, conducting assessments of platform solutions, managing platform transitions, data handing and retention.
Design, develop and maintain approval workflow systems using pre-defined company tools.
Provide user training and maintain standard operating procedures for system users.
Maintain Organizational internal webpage coordinating content with the larger SRCM team.
Experience in IT system administrator or engineering management .
Bachelor’s in engineering or Technology or 5+ years of equivalent work experience in this field.
5+ years of work experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and accountability in security system platform management at an industrial security facility, government facility or business, preferably in both an office and manufacturing environment.
SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance.
Familiarity in the use of CAD or similar design related software.
Experience in system platform management associated with ICD705, 32CFRPart117, UL2050.
Expertise in the design, installation, programming, hardware management and performance management of Lenel OnGuard or similar access control.
Demonstrated knowledge in development of risk assessments techniques.
Proven ability to self-manage and independently drive performance in a challenging environment.
Must have the ability to prioritize, manage third party suppliers and coordinate with internal resources.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong project management and analytical skills.
Advanced computer skills/literacy and experience working with digital online databases.
Must be available for an on-call rotation to respond to system platform failures and or SRCM-related crises/emergencies.
Must be 18 years or older
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to have a current or active Secret Clearance with an ability to attain a Top Secret Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
