Identify long-term technical growth opportunities for coating technologies in support of GE businesses and develop research plans to address them.
Prepare research proposals for external funding.
Identify opportunities to capture intellectual property, prepare patent disclosures and work with legal counsel to prepare patent applications.
Share project progress internally and externally through oral presentations, written reports, and as appropriate through external publications.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree with minimum of six years’ experience in Materials Science and Engineering or related discipline
Experience in thermal spray processing
Demonstrated expertise in coatings or materials (alloy or inorganic) technology development where process control is used to produce microstructures that meet desired performance metrics
Demonstrated expertise in developing and/or selection of appropriate tests and testing procedures to measure critical coating properties
