Role Summary:

The Executive – Plant Management will be responsible for leading plant manufacturing operations for the Newark, DE facility.

In the role of Executive – Plant Management, you will be accountable for planning and directing all aspects of the organization’s manufacturing, community relations and supply chain strategies, objectives, initiatives and policies, as well as play a key leadership role within the CMC organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

Additionally, as the Executive – Plant Management, Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drive operations team towards execution of Business Goals using Lean Manufacturing methodology

  • Monitor & improve cost productivity while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality & compliant manner

  • Establish and direct plant policies and procedures

  • Meet plant production and quality goals

  • Have a strong focus on employee relations

  • Foster well-trained and motivated staff

  • Establish all production schedules and meet customer’s delivery and quality expectations

  • Select, train and develop plant supervisory and administrative staff

  • Provide leadership for executing New Product Introductions (NPIs), with a strong network with engineering design

  • Ensure sufficient capacity exists to achieve all customer commitments

  • Be responsible for driving continuous improvements in factory yield

  • Drive Product Quality and Lean to ensure that internal business metrics are met

  • Develop & create training plans to maximize workforce capability

  • Continually improve metrics

  • Conduct employee performance reviews

  • Schedule and conduct plant meetings; foster employee engagement and ensure that business and operational goals are effectively communicated to employees

  • Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in productivity, customer service, quality, inventory and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in a manufacturing or supply chain role (Including leadership experience) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT(S):

  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience with proven leadership in manufacturing or supply chain role

  • Proven leadership skills (experience successfully managing people / projects / issues)

  • Master’s Degree in Manufacturing / Business / Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Six sigma certification or equivalent quality certification

  • OMLP graduate or similar program inside or outside GE desired

  • Proven mentoring and coaching abilities, demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others

  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of the shop

  • Demonstrated ability to set and manage competing priorities to drive key deliverables in a fast paced & dynamic environment

  • Demonstrated ability to shape and drive culture including safety mindset … understanding of potential hazards as well as defenses in place to mitigate risks

  • Demonstrated ability to bring individual leaders & employees together to drive for collective goals

  • Demonstrated ability to connect across the GE matrix organization and leverage resources within the broader business

  • Demonstrated ability to foster healthy debate and manage through difficult conversations

  • Knowledge of the disciplines of building a manufacturing plant preferably a chemical plant

  • Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, variable cost productivity, and fulfillment metrics, quality systems, cost systems, and fulfillment metrics, and procedures

  • Demonstrated capability in employee relations

  • Demonstrated leadership, energizing teams and project management

  • Lean trained with demonstrated ability to apply tools and process rigor

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a complex, global, unique and sometimes ambiguous environment

  • Proven ability to prioritize, plan and execute important business and supply chain initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability able to influence and communicate well with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
