General Electric Senior Project Manager, Conceptual Design in New Orleans, Louisiana

Role Summary:

The Conceptual Design Engineer designs the blades we sell! By performing technology feasibility studies in close cooperation with our customers, the Conceptual Design Engineer designs all new blades at LM Wind Power ensuring that the blades are fulfilling customer requirements and are within LM design specifications. By designing competitive blades, customer value is maximized and the future business of LM Wind Power is ensured.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Conceptual Design Engineer, you will:

  • Design blades from scratch in close cooperation with our customers

  • Continuously improve current blade design and skills

  • Foster strong communication across global team on blade projects

  • Build relationships with customers on current, new and upcoming blade designs

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Control, Aero-elasticity or Aerodynamics) from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in the field

Desired Characteristics:

  • Solid competences within aerodynamics, structural engineering, manufacturing, material & processes, turbine design, turbine modelling, turbine control, climate conditions, load simulations and optimization

  • Innovative: finds new ways to improve designs / challenges current ways of working

  • Strong communications skills when interacting with customers

  • Programming skills (Python and C++)
