General Electric Hydro Plant Support Hub Leader-North West in Monroe, Washington

Role Summary:The Plant Support Hub Leader is responsible to develop, pilot and grow transactional service activities within their geographical area.

Transactional service activities, also called Plant Support activities, are the services provided to Hydro Power Plants such as Spare Parts, Technical Assistance, Condition Assessment, Maintenance and Repairs. Related products are mainly Hydro Turbine and Generator products, but can also be controls for governor & DCS, Valves and auxiliaries.

Essential Responsibilities:Individual accountabilities

In his role, the plant support hub leader will :

  • Partner with area sales manager to understand local markets, customers and partners

  • In collaboration with area sales manager, set up commercial strategy and develop plant support activities, in line with GE Hydro Service business strategy

  • Own customer interface at plant level

  • Define local partnering strategy

  • Build appropriate local network of key partners to support GE in executing jobs with responsiveness, quality and competitiveness.

  • Set up operational organization locally to be lean and competitive, leveraging local GE engineering and site resources, and other GE support functions regionally

  • Own "sizing" of local team to support plant support activities, with respect to business recovery targets

  • Conduct site visits, client meetings, listen to customer needs and be ready to detect client issues and promote adequate technical solutions

  • Define proposals strategy, target price and build technical and commercial proposals

  • Negotiate each deal until award

  • Pilot execution of job with respect to time, quality, and costs commitment

  • Run Hub financials in terms or orders, cash-in and OP

  • Build and present business plans, results and recommendations to senior business leaders

  • Build strong relationship and intimacy with GE client while demonstrating success in the execution of the jobs


The Plant support hub leader will report directly to the country service director and will lead, functionally, a plant support core team (locally), and support functions representative (based in other GE Hydro North America locations/offices).

GE Hydro North America Headquarter is located in Brossard, Quebec.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in mechanical engineering

  • 10-15 Years professional experience including :

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Hydro Turbine and Generators service and retrofit

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Project management (small size/fast track projects)

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a commercial role or business development

  • Engineering or Field Operation background highly preferred

  • Knowledge of area Hydro customers highly preferred

  • Able to travel to Hydro Power Plants frequently (30% of the time)

Location: US-Pacific Northwest (Home office, Co-working area or GE existing office in Monroe, WA)
