General Electric Sr Staff Software Quality Assurance Engineer - Minden, NV in MINDEN, Nevada

Role Summary:

Role Summary:

You will work as a valued team member of an Agile software team driving a culture of developing high quality software products meeting customer needs in a competitive and exciting work environment. As a software quality leader and member, you will contribute to the teams' delivery of high quality software through quality analysis, collaboration with Agile Scrum Teams around quality, test automation, and more. From requirements through design, code development, testing and release.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Strong Knowledge of APM Meridium, APM -Unified product offerings

  • Strong Knowledge of Smart Signal and interface with customers

  • Ability to work with customers via phone and email to provide essential support for issues

  • Work closely with Product Success leaders, Tech support Manager and engineering teams to support customers

  • Work closely with Commercial and Product development teams to enhance offerings to customers – essential feedback to those teams related to systemic issues and solutions

  • Work within case management systems to track cases and work within existing Service Level agreements for each customer

  • Day to Day Management of cases

  • Understand team metrics and deliverables

  • Understand escalation of cases as needed to meet customer needs

  • Ability to work on different systems effectively to promote customer success

  • Provided guidance for customers related to these products and GE Digital offerings


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 10 years of overall software related experience

  • Minimum 2 years of recent leadership experience in a quality assurance role, responsible for leading and evaluating quality across the full software development life cycle (SDLC)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Work out of an office located in Minden, NV

  • Travel as required

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

  • Expert in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, XAML, HTML5

  • Expert knowledge of relational databases and query languages such as SQL

  • Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

  • Ability to take ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members

  • Provides expertise in Design, Architecture, Development and Shipping from Quality Engineering perspective

  • Drive pair programming practices and code reviews across the team

  • Drives initiatives to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

  • Drives transparency by proactively sharing design choices with appropriate audiences, with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness

  • Demonstrates skilled understanding of functional and nonfunctional requirements and their priority within the backlog

  • Deep familiarity with Test Driven Development and experience in automated API based testing

  • Deep familiarity with Agile concepts, preferably Scrum
