This key role is part of the Commercial/Technical Operations team supporting the Renewables business in Asia Pacific region.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead technical contract & bid development and negotiation as a technical lead person. Owns the technical analysis of customer inquiries, RFQs, or tenders, to determine proposal requirements, scope of supply, and winning equipment configurations. Matrix leadership of internal technical team including Application engineering, EHS, product engineering, Balance of Plant (BOP), renewables product line and all other technical disciplines for contract closure, proposals, technical resolution of WTG requirement with METI.

  • Lead all technical level engagement with certification bodies, METI Special Committee members and administrative personnel, and own the development of strategy and implementation of activities to ensure technical compliance of current GE wind turbine products during the ITO (Inquiry to Order) phase.

  • Function as the accountable Commercial Operation resources in ITO (Inquiry to Order) working closely with Commercial Director (CD), Commercial Leader (CL) and Sales team.

  • Responsible for the ITO cycle time reduction, proposal quality improvement and technical risk analysis optimization.

  • Leading technical transactional participant in the ITO Risk Processes for R0, R1, R2 and R3, as well as in the handoff/transition into Order to Remittance (OTR) and associated critical processes, such as customer kickoff, first project review, etc. as applicable.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of own and others sales territory, product lines, markets, sales processes or customer groups and uses analytical thinking and commercial experience to execute policy/ strategy.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market technically.

  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems with projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers. Ability to prioritize information for decision making. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Team player. Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Fluent in Japanese and English. Korean language skill is a plus.

  • Technical expertise in the Renewables Industry, including wind resources assessment, wind turbine products, wind project basics.

  • Demonstrated business / commercial acumen.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities.

  • Minimum 6 years relevant professional experience

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Knowledge of GE Renewables Products .
