Job Description Summary

The Global Product Manager, ECG and OEM Parameters is responsible for the GEHC world-class ECG monitoring algorithms and workflows across the full range of products from Premium to Value segments. This role owns software feature definitions, business case development, cross platform solutions roadmap, and is a key resource to integration teams managing the life-cycle and implementation of ECG in their product lines. The core of this role is translating ECG clinical features and workflows into next generation patient monitoring solutions, and the GPM will accomplish this by collaborating with multiple product teams, Global and Regional marketing, and cross-GEHC segments like DCAR, ICAR, CVUS and other cardiology related teams. The GPM will also own relationships with the most important GEHC partners and OEMs in the monitoring space, with the goal of growing GEHC revenue, market share and margin thru partnerships.

Job Description

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Establish the vision and strategic plan for the assigned product portfolio based on a deep understanding of clinical care areas and competitive product offerings.

  • Drive cross-functional business engagement and ensures product meets specifications and is developed on time and within budget.

  • Own ECG monitoring feature definitions and participate in the agile software development thru the NPI process. The GPM will orchestrate feature definitions and partner with teams in CARESCAPE, MDH and other GEHC businesses like DCAR, ICAR, CVUS, etc and provide overall leadership for the ECG monitoring hardware, software and systems roadmap

  • Own and manage key OEM partner relationships. Manage the strategic and tactical elements of OEM negotiations, contracts and performance. Represent GEHC to existing and potential new OEM partners. Track key business metrics of OEM partnerships in order to grow GEHC revenue, share and margin

  • Key metrics: financial performance of the product portfolio, reducing complaint rates and improving quality metrics. Ensure compliance with quality systems, regulatory requirements, and the commercial change process.

  • Key contributor to annual business and strategic plans with the goal of achieving growth and market share objectives. Collaborates with Product management leaders, Global Product Marketing, regional sales and marketing to develop the orders forecast for the product portfolio.

  • Ensure customer focus by communicating and building rapport with customers and ensuring the “voice of the customer” is reflected in product development.

  • Partner with Global and Regional marketing teams to drive revenue growth, share gain, and margin expansion thru new software features and capabilities

  • Drive product lifecycle management and evolution based on customer insights and competitive landscape. Partner with cross-functional teams during key milestones in the product lifecycle process.

  • Partner with Engineering and Marketing Managers to provide input to the product development roadmap and to develop, test and prototype new product ideas.

  • Lead product testing and acceptance at pilot sites. Maintain release schedules and ensure regulatory and regional requirements are met. Assist with product and launch training when necessary.

  • Ensure product availability.

  • Develop, execute, and motivate others on strategies, tactics, measurements, and operating mechanisms to deliver business results.

  • Monitor product adoption and use upon release in order to determine which features and functionality would enhance future versions.

  • Manages all aspects of the product(s) life cycle starting with the detailed planning phase (in development) until the product is terminated. Define Product Models and Structures. Identify Offerings Items and Structures. (note: this is a Product Controllership deliverable)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Clinical or Business Administration or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, clinical or product management or related field

  • Leadership skills to lead teams and shape/lead growth vision and marketing strategy

  • Team oriented – ability to motivate and work well with diverse, global and cross-functional teams

  • Influencing skills – ability to motivate individuals and demonstrate organizational influence

  • Demonstrated oral and written communications skills

  • Strong analytical and process skills

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment

  • Ability to travel 15% (both domestic and international)

  • Willingness to consistently work flexible hours to accommodate needs of global customers and colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, clinical or product management or related field

  • Deep expertise in ECG or cardiology related fields, market and customer insights, new product introduction process, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management, or clinical workflows in the patient monitoring space.

  • International experience in Engineering, Clinical or Business Administration or related field

  • Healthcare product/industry/technical acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing, and quality of outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers

  • Collaborative leadership skills: exhibits willingness to engage other business partners within the organization, is innovative, creative and a team player with a solution-based approach to capture opportunities and remove barriers

  • Clear Thinker - Strong decision making skills: takes proactive steps to generate results, uses data and other inputs to make decisions, owns decision, and takes accountability for work using strong organizational and analytical skills
