Job Description Summary

Be part of a team that is creating the next generation of Patient Monitoring devices. Perform diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC product development. Assignments may include, but are not limited to: set up and running of data acquisition equipment for tests, carrying out experiments, troubleshooting, and reporting/documenting results of tests and measures, lead compliance and quality activities, and assisting other team members.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and ownership to multiple labs used to perform customer demos and day to day engineering development.

  • Install, configure, and update both 3rd party and GE Healthcare equipment in various engineering labs.

  • Physically moving and re-arranging lab equipment, including low voltage wiring, computer systems, simulators, and other test equipment.

  • Plan for, purchase and maintain an inventory of equipment necessary to support engineering labs

  • Provide end-user support for lab infrastructure including troubleshooting, diagnosis, and resolution.

  • Tool and software license management

  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety in all lab areas

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a two-year associate degree in computer technology or related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-degree experience within a software development, technical industry, or research environment.

  • Experience with Linux, Windows PC and Windows Server installation, administration, and troubleshooting (both on site and remotely).

  • Experience with servers, VMware, TCP/IP Networking, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory. CompTIA A+ certification, CompTIA, Network+ certification

  • Linux+ certification

  • Experience with scripting languages such as: Groovy, shell scripting (Bash, Powershell), Python or Ruby

  • Ability to support our engineering network, including switches, routers, firewalls, remote access, etc.

  • Experience troubleshooting network infrastructure problems

  • Ability to lift objects up to 80 pounds

  • Self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis with a propensity for creative out of the box thinking.

  • Must be detail-oriented, dependable, and able to adapt to new and challenging situations.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal & organizational skills are a must; we expect all of our technicians to be able to work well in a team environment.

  • Willingness to work on-site in Milwaukee, WI location
