General Electric Build & Release Engineer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Essential Responsibilities:Set direction and implement integration and system build environments. Champion the importance of Build and Release as part of the development life cycle. Create and maintain the development infrastructure including build environments, continuous integration, configuration management tools, testing platforms and test automation frameworks. Create platforms and environments for system demonstration. Work to automatically integrate, deploy and validate code in a staging environment. Work with multiple teams to influence and drive changes in tool use and processes. Determines best practices and principles and promotes them across the team. Partner with QA to ensure compliance regarding software processes and outputs.
Qualifications/Requirements:Position requires Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related degree within Engineering/IT/Science discipline or a related field and 2 years of experience in Enterprise software, build, and configuration technologies within a software development, technical industry or research environment. The position also requires 1 year of experience using configuration management tools such as: Git, GitLab, ClearCase, SVN, Perforce or PVCS to perform operations such as branching, merging and labeling. 1 of year experience using build/artifact management tools such as: Gradle, Maven or Ant to compile code and generate reports. 1 year of experience configuring builds within continuous integration tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity or CloudBees and supporting development teams using the tools. 1 year of experience using test reporting and static analysis tools such as: Coverity, SonarQue, FindBugs, Checkstyle, PMD, Clover, JaCoCo or Bullseye. 1 year of experience with test automation using technologies such as: Java, Selenium, Junit, Cucumber. 1 year of experience writing automation scripts for build and release processes using scripting languages such as: PERL, Shell, Python or Ruby. 1 year of experience creating/configuring VMs within virtualization environments such as: VMWare, Hyper-V, Xen or Virtualbox. 1 year of experience using both Linux and Windows operating systems.
