General Electric Medical Director IMI - PDx in Milan, Italy

Role Summary:The Medical Director is responsible for the development and execution of the medical plan for Italy, Malta and Israel in line with the marketing and commercial strategy. He/She is the guaranty of the medical and scientific quality of messages and promotional materials developed by marketing, regulatory files, as well as answers to medical information inquiries. He/she develops high quality medical relations with Health Care Professionals through collaborations decided in the annual medical plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • He/She provides scientific support to expert groups and global medical leaders

  • He/She will have established their reputation outside of their region by close and effective cross functional collaboration

  • He/She will be recognized as a key partner to their commercial partners and seen as adding value to the business

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • To develop and oversee the implementation of the annual medical plan to medically support the marketing and commercial strategy in accordance with the regulatory requirements. Will be the preferred scientific partner for both internal and external customers and will be the key driver of scientific trainings

  • Will assist in the preparation and delivery of training materials to support new staff as well as continuing the training and support of the existing staff on new products and initiatives through scientific data exchange. This will include the provision of clinical paper summaries and disease area information

  • Present business cases and key clinical evidence to both internal and external customers at individual, national and regional levels

  • Provide an additional and important contact point for relationships with Key Opinion Leaders especially in the Cardiology, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine, Oncology, and Interventional Radiology and specialties

  • Dissemination of clinical paper summaries and disease area information

  • Responsibility for the preparation and/or review of scientific product presentations to be used in customer meetings, symposium or Advisory boards. To Provide medical input to the creation of key promotional material for new or existing products and will review and provide medical content review for all advertising and promotional material

  • Provide medical leadership across functions and therapeutic areas to ensure that customers have the right scientific information to maximize quality patient care in the utilization of our products

  • To support the Medical information Officer/Scientific advisor to ensure the scientific quality of medical information and in the reporting of sales activities to AIFA

  • To collaborate with the Regulatory Affairs for new indications, reimbursement dossier and to answer the requests/questions from the Health Authorities


  • A doctorate degree and licensed within their respective specialty. Significant experience in a medical affairs role in the pharmaceutical industry.

Demonstrated management skills within the Pharmaceutical industry

  • Good commercial acumen and experience in a commercial environment

  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills to a range of internal and external customers

  • Fluent in English (both written and oral) and any other language

  • Adaptability to work on various medical and scientific fields - Ability to establish high level scientific relationships with health care professionals

  • Taste for working in cross-functional teams

  • Excellent knowledge of local regulations on Medical Information and promotional / non-promotional activities of the drug

  • Rigor and sense of organization

  • EU work permit

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in any of the radiology, nuclear medicine, cardiology, neurology or urology specialties

  • Experience of approving promotional materials in accordance with the appropriate regulations

  • Willing to travel

  • Self-motivated and confident team player with attention to detail
