General Electric Project Operations Training Manager in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom

Job Description Summary

To join the Project Management Office (PMO) of GE Renewable Energy/Wind Offshore. The department is responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely management of its project portfolio and supports in providing its teams with the tools and processes required to deliver successfully.

This role is vital to ensure the projects technical manpower and resource is suitably trained for project operations, the candidate shall be responsible for liaising with key stakeholders to understand training requirements, actively planning and organizing training, travel and accommodation for planned field operations globally.

The Training managers primary role will be to manage and co-ordinate the delivery of a large portfolio of technical and EHS training, facilitating the projects offshore wind technical labour and Sub-Contractors, whilst managing associated training documentation and certification accordingly.

Based on GE’s Marshalling site and head office in Redcar/Hartlepool this role is autonomous and requires a keen candidate with experience in managing and Co-ordinating large groups of people for training activities.

This role shall liaise and work closely with the project’s key stakeholders, including, but not limited to:

• GE’s technical training team based in Salzbergen, Germany

• GE Project and functional management teams based in UK and EU

• GE contractors and Sub-contractors

Essential Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate Project HUB and international training classes at facility for internal GE and Contractors.

  • Co-ordinate and manage the HUB training facilities

  • Co-ordinate the training area EHS requirements in alignment the Project OFW Safe working systems procedure and the Project’s Offshore Medical and Training Requirements

  • Interaction with suppliers of components to co-ordinate trainings that are in the suppliers’ scope

  • Participate as an active member of the Learning Organization in defining and implementing new programs that support Project training, including Project specific online Learning Management System modules

  • Build strong working relationships with all key stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Technical qualification in mechanical or electrical bias

  • Extensive experience in training management

  • Able to work autonomously and self-motivated

  • Experience in resource management and/or operations management of manpower

  • Excellent communication and people management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time if necessary, to deliver on business requirements and support operational needs.
