Job Description Summary

The Finance Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. ln this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The main objective for the finance managers is to assure cash linearity, quality monthly closing, profitability and cost reduction.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a cost center a profit center; product, project or service. Managers of people from multiple families within the function.

  • Typically a 2nd line manager with senior professional direct reports. Has ability to attract and retain talent. Often manages medium to large teams. Developing expertise within function. Growing reputation within the organization. Includes roles that are experts in their discipline, providing professional or thought leadership. Influences policy and ensures delivery within own function, linking with other functions of the organization.

  • May lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Presents business solutions to leaders in functional area. Communicates complex messages and negotiates mainly internally with others to adopt a different point of view. Influences peers to take action and may negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.

  • Has major influence on small business unit, a segment within a larger business unit, a family within a Function or a P&L business segment and has ownership/influence over budgets. The role is guided by functional policy. The role influences policy/operating guidelines about important subjects.

  • Leads others to find creative solutions to address complex problems that may impact the organization. Has the ability to evaluate quality of information received and questions conflicting data for analysis. Uses multiple internal and external resources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

  • Serve as a business partner to the operating team to drive business initiatives, growth and profitability.

  • Drive initiatives to assure cash linearity.

  • Partner with technical/business leaders and staff to drive operating performance and focus on cost optimization, productivity and inventory accuracy.

  • Develop estimates operating plans, budgets/forecasts, reviews and reports (GAAP).

  • Develop and establish financial policies & procedures.

  • Assist on internal and external audits and ensure controllership and consistency of accounting process across the operations, drive controllership awareness and processes through operations teams and ensures finance compliance.

  • Analyze and organize data appropriately by anticipating the internal client's expectations

  • Use experience and knowledge in business and trends to determine materiality of variances in the analysis and reporting process

  • Ensure planning cycle and reporting requirement deadlines are met by facilitating and coordinating efforts across multiples functions to gather required data

  • Use prior knowledge and experience to effectively and actively participate in business planning session and support the development of short and long-range financial and business plans

  • Ensure the accuracy of the organization's financial results by recognizing and preventing misrepresentation or omission of information

  • Work effectively with business leaders to proactively drive key business initiatives and effectively analyze and report the financial impact on the business

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Finance Function Management
