Job Description Summary
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
GE Energy Management Services, LLC seeks Software Engineer (multiple positions) to be responsible for defining, developing, and evolving software in an agile development environment using the latest software development methods and infrastructure. Support impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design/architectural considerations and implementation strategy. Collaborate with system engineers, data scientists, frontend developers and software developers to implement solutions that are aligned with and extend shared platforms and solutions. Apply principles of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, Continuous Integration (CI), Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, and Refactoring and Testing Techniques. Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Position requires Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 2 years of related experience. Position also requires 2 years of experience with: object oriented analysis and design; C#, Java or C++; .Net Technologies; RESTful or Webservices; HTML5 and CSS; AngularJS or KnockoutJS; and database tools (SQL and Oracle). The position also requires 1 year of experience with modern tooling (Git and TFS).
