Job Description Summary

The role of the ADMS Solution Integration Engineer is to ensure that GE’s ADMS software products meet the customer requirements by combining technical expertise and product knowledge to implement and support the product.

This role suits those with a strong technical skill set. It involves a high degree of customer contact, consultancy and liaison with development and project teams across Asia-Pacific and globally.

The position is primarily project delivery focused and combines inter-personal, technical, and product skills. Candidates must be flexible and able to carry out a wide range of responsibilities.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Solution Integration leadership of SCADA/ADMS projects implementing the GE Asset Control Product Suite

  • Liaising with GE customers at various project levels to:

  • maintain good customer relations and on time delivery

  • elicit technical requirements and to negotiate technical change

  • Supporting systems through installation, testing and roll-out to live operation

  • Support the customer by

  • Investigate and resolve problems reported by Customer

  • Clarify conflictive technical situations

  • Provide technical support

  • Ensuring accurate and rapid configuration of the GE product set

  • Liaising with GE internal teams for the design and delivery of project specific software to meet customer requirements

  • Hardware and installation support for internal GE ADMS used by projects and customer support

  • Providing input to and optimisation of the project to assist Project Managers

  • Provide specialized technical support from a remote location either by telephone, email or Internet

  • Work closely with GE Product team on delivering software upgrades and enhancements

  • Maintaining an awareness of latest technologies

  • Ensuring that all related quality procedures, guidelines and initiatives are adhered to ensure continuous improvement of customer satisfaction

Qualifications: Required

  • Bachelor’s / Master degree and 5+ years of experience in software services, or equivalent (defined as: High School Diploma and 7+ years progressive experience in software services)

  • Experience in a range of hardware and software technologies commonly used in the Electric Utility industry. (i.e. SCADA Systems – Including RTU’s and communications protocols)

  • Previous and recent delivery experience of SCADA, DMS and/or OMS software

  • Preference will be given to those candidates with knowledge of the GE's ADMS

Qualifications: Desired

  • Good working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Experience in Linux / UNIXTM , Windows OS, Oracle/SQL Plus, Perl, and XML; and preference will be given to those candidates with knowledge in one or more of the following: SOAP; PI Historian; CIM; ODBC; VMware

  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and be self-directed in workload prioritization

  • Experience in project delivery integrating software products and/or technical support of a live environment

  • Knowledge of software development tools, test automation tools, Client / Server applications.

  • Experience of working within a Quality environment, for example, ISO, Six Sigma, or Lean

  • Experience in project delivery integrating software products and/or technical support of a live environment

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and consultancy skills, including strong verbal and written English skills. Must be comfortable presenting technical design, technical solutions and enterprise architecture solutions to clients/customers

  • Thoroughly motivated self-starter, able to work independently, motivate and influence others.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
