Role Summary:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving quality initiatives across the plant and promoting Quality Management System policies and procedures. In this role, you will work with other departments to drive continuous improvements, understand efficiency and quality issues, driving metrics.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Quality Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the quality systems’ definition, validation and integration of existing products and new introductions

  • Create, implement / maintain quality documentation, quality control plans, quality procedures and work instructions

  • Provide expertise in the areas of statistical analysis / process control, experiment design, Lean and project management

  • Ensure that all processes are in full compliance at all times for established and approved processes

  • Serve as key customer account quality liaison, working with customer and Post Sales service to ensure timely resolution of customer issues

  • Lead warranty returns defect analysis process as well as scrap reduction programs & owns COQ reduction for assigned areas

  • Perform QMS audits and record results in Gensuite

  • Develop, integrate and manage the Corrective Action and Preventive Action program (CAPA)

  • Ensure timely resolution on issues impacting the operation and/or customers

  • Provide training to quality and operations personnel

  • Identify and lead quality improvement projects to achieve business quality commitments

  • Ensure controlled implementation, process capabilities evaluation and essential operational parameters for any product / process integration or change

  • Own quality data tracking, including data accuracy, out of control situations, PPM levels of CTQ’s / PPCTQ’s

  • Lead warranty returns defect analysis process as well as scrap reduction programs & owns COQ reduction for assigned areas

  • Ensures process complies with UL & CSA standards avoiding variation notices and assuring all outgoing and incoming product meet appropriate standards, FRACAS owner

  • Work closely with Sourcing and Supplier Quality teams to ensure the highest quality from internal and external vendors

  • Participate in daily production meetings and supports all operational plant targets as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing

  • Minimum of 2 years in a Quality role

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated project management skills with strong quantitative / analytical skills

  • Experience with QMS, PQMT and PMPro implementation and utilization

  • Hands on experience / knowledge of control level evaluations and lean principles

  • Task and detail oriented

  • Ability to manage time with minimal supervision

  • Ability to read and interpret technical prints

  • Strong oral and written communication in English

  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills

  • Demonstrated capability to generate / create change with the ability to influence at all levels

  • Strong interpersonal skills / excellent team player

  • Demonstrated leadership with skills to develop upcoming engineers

  • Green Belt certified or equivalent Quality certification

  • Ability to comply with EHS regulations and requirements
