The Lead Engineer will be responsible for the preparation and submittal of drawing packages based on customer specifications for electrical equipment and controls. In this role, you will work with project managers and customers within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
As the Lead Engineer, you will:
Interpret customer and sales specifications and translate into instructions (including bill of materials & drawings) for manufacturing
Ensure all work meets customer requirements, quality, safety, and cost objectives
Prepare, submit and release drawing packages based on customer specifications
Maintain both planned output to meet schedule and high levels of engineering quality
Support manufacturing in resolution of issues and engineering change notices
Interface with customers, regional sales and field installation services personnel
Promote open communication and maintain effective working relationships
Work cross-functionally with multiple teams
Plan, organize, lead and execute multiple small and large projects simultaneously
Generate ideas for process improvement opportunities and execute small projects
Generate cost estimates and attend customer meetings
Design custom control circuits within defined safety limits
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Production), Mechatronics, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience
Experience designing motor control centers (MCC), switchboard (SWBD) products, or controls and communication circuits (industry communication protocols, programable logic controllers, human machine interfaces)
Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated ability to interpret schematics and technical specifications
Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Project management skills with ability to plan, execute and document programs / projects
Computer skills in Office and experience with software tools, such as EPLAN and CREO
Strong customer focus

Willingness to support off-shift manufacturing teams
