Job Description Summary

For our Shop Operations organization we are looking for a Customs Import/Export Specialist whose main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

To drive the completeness, timeliness and compliance to customs regulations material shipping to Customers and Vendors and the related activities of storage/accumulations in the warehouse.

Lead the design, execution, and control of customs operations in both phases inbound & outbound monitoring the daily operations.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Ensure that customs declarations of varying complexity are filled accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring “regulatory excellence” in accordance with the company requirements and applicable laws.

  • Act as business focal point for customs ops related matters to facilitate and drive process enhancement and adherence

  • Be the reference for all the logistics and customs inbound activities

  • Be accountable for all the logistics cycle time and Inventory accuracy

  • Provide advice & guidance to the businesses on Customs related topics (e.g. valuation, origin, classification) and core Customs processes

  • Ensure the appropriate customs valuation, classification and country of origin of imported and exported goods is properly utilized.

  • Work in collaboration with all the functions to achieve the highest level of synergy, simplification and optimization of processes and procedures

  • Coordinate and manage the relationship with the Logistics Providers, in order to achieve the common targets

  • Develop and maintain a sound set of metrics to manage the workload, the productivity, the responsiveness and the quality

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS :

  • Bachelor's degree required or other professional certifications related to Customs/material mgmt

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Materials, ERP and/or Large Project Implementations

  • Clear understanding of Materials processes and planning and control systems.

  • Compliance & controllership mindset

  • Strong project management and consulting skills with the ability to influence work effectively and implement solutions in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, presentation and time management skills.

  • Ability to react to situations with a sense of urgency.

  • Organized, detail oriented and methodical.

  • Availability to travel

  • Fluent English

Desired :

  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Applications & associated tools

  • Lean methodology knowledge, Technical or operations background.

  • Knowledge of GE Customs systems and processes

  • Established networks within the GE Customs organizations in Europe
