General Electric Senior Demand Planner in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

You will be responsible for consolidating and understanding sales and marketing data to lead production of sales and delivery forecasts for a defined region. The role will focus on our Contrast Media products.

It is expected that the individual has a thorough understanding of the business - in particular commercial and financial planning, regulatory environment and logistical issues - in order to anticipate impacts on sales and supply, take leadership and personal responsibility in identifying and establishing economic solutions and provide recommendations to management.

Our Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business is the number one global supplier of contrast media and molecular imaging agents used to enhance medical imaging exams. Used throughout all major disease area diagnostic and treatment pathways, PDx products support three patients every second around the world.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Forecasting: Ensure approved 24 months sales and delivery forecast at any time. Develop the process of creating forecasts and replenishment plans for the region/ area. Give clear direction on forecasting goals and direction

  • Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): Ensure quality and continuity of regular pre-S&OP meetings. Provide input to S&OP/Demand Review. Generates ad hoc analyses as required and gives planning & analytical support within and outside the function, both in relation to S&OP, GPB, QMI and SII. Support execution of central programs and strategic decisions through S&OP

  • Performance Measurement: Monitoring and analysis of sales history, reporting of forecast changes and drivers. Measuring and analyzing regional key performance indicators and drive clear actions from it. Track and analyze regional supply performance and take leadership in exceptions management

  • Life Cycle Management: Analyze product portfolios with respect sales volume, value and margins. Manage new product introduction and discontinuation

  • Planning systems: Maintain and develop forecasting parameters, master data and models which provide transparent and consistent data to enable rapid decision making

  • Markets: support markets and distribution centers in establishing planning processes and systems especially with regards to emerging markets

  • Responsible of the obsolete inventory and initiatives of inventory reduction

  • Primary operations contact for the US Wholesaler

  • Process improvement: Identify and participate in supply chain demand planning improvement initiatives

  • Stakeholder management: Take personal responsibility to keep key stakeholders informed and escalate and manage issues for resolution

  • Development: Be pro-active in addressing issues, sub-optimal use of resources, sharing best-practice, acquire a thorough understanding of related metrics and their impact on operations and keep informed and updated on relevant planning theory, statistical methods and modelling as well as forecasting benchmarks. Takes corrective action to ensure problems do not reoccur. Anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead to next steps

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in demand planning).

  • Affinity to systems and use of computers/software. Good Excel skills are essential.

  • Stakeholder management experience

  • Exposure to Supply Chain Management

  • Experience working across different functions

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • SCM / Planning education and work experience

  • Working knowledge of planning processes and systems (SAP R/3, APO or other advanced planning systems)

  • Healthcare experience is not essential but would be beneficial

  • Speaking Spanish or Portuguese is not essential but would be beneficial
