Job Description Summary

Lead the Sales organization, defines and implements the product strategy across multiple channels and partners. Responsible to grow profitability of the franchise, focused on both commercial and operational aspects. Key metrics of success are: sales, profit, cash, Customer satisfaction and market share. Key role in the global organization, including R&D and product management, suggesting product portfolio evolution and creating business opportunities to leverage & improve products/brands equity.

Our Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business is a global leader in imaging agents, used to improve and enhance the images that radiologists use to diagnose and monitor disease. We support healthcare professionals in the administration of neurology, cardiology and oncology procedures that are used to image three patients around the world, every second.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the Sales strategy for the US region, managing overall sales, profit, cash, Customer satisfaction and market share in a manner that fulfills business and achieves targets.

  • Identify and assess strategic opportunities for Contrast Media business through ongoing research of industry trends and risk assessment, as well as partner with product and manufacturing leadership to develop a long-term vision and strategic roadmap.

  • Regularly assess business development plans and gain an understanding of the key players in our Customer relationships. Develop and implement a plan for gaining deeper trust and engagement of senior management for both our Customers and GE Healthcare.

  • Lead the management team in the region, ensuring strong collaboration between Sales and functions including Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, Marketing and Commercial Operations.

  • Optimize the use of resources to cover market potential to achieve the operating plan.

  • Understand and analyze market dynamics and competition, establish extended market intelligence in relation to Customer pipeline to develop business opportunities. Provide ongoing feedback to management, region and marketing.

  • Continuously update understanding of the Customers changing technical and/or operational issues and challenges and understanding of current and future trends in Contrast Media.

  • Ensure and validate up to date knowledge of product positioning and differentiation messages across the region.

  • Know, interact and develop the strategy with Key Opinion Leaders and decision makers in product relevant scientific areas; manage professional relations with key Customers to ensure understanding of needs and that GE Healthcare product value proposition is differentiated in the minds of these key Customer groups. Nurture relationships with professional society stakeholders.

  • In conjunction with marketing, determine the market potential for product/product range or segment and prioritize the opportunities.

  • Enhance account planning and nurture collaboration with Healthcare Systems.

  • Attract, retain, educate, and develop world-class commercial talents to realize product commercial strategy.

  • Responsible to drive optimal operating mechanisms to deliver on fulfillment targets and order backlog commitments.

  • Embrace LEAN to drive continuous improvement.


  • Education to bachelor’s degree level, in relevant scientific area.

  • 8+ years of successful sales/marketing leadership experience.

  • 3+ years of successful senior level sales management and/or general management experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years in healthcare industry.

  • Minimum of 2 years in a commercial leadership and/or business leadership role.

  • Willingness and ability to travel.

  • Experienced in Business Management or Finance in progressive leadership positions within the Pharmaceutical/Imaging industry with knowledge of Pharmaceutical/Imaging market and decision makers.

  • Demonstrated business management and resource allocation skills including business plan development.

  • Change agent with energy, passion and enthusiasm to drive change.

  • Ability to translate strategy into specific actions with clear accountability, making decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information and communicating priorities clearly.

  • Ability to communicate and present ideas to Customers in a way that produces understanding and impact that builds effective strategic relationships.

  • Strong business acumen; financial and organizational skills.

  • Advanced negotiation, problem solving and influencing skills.
