General Electric Application Operations Engineer in Marlborough, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

The Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx), Research and Development (R&D), Regulatory Affairs (RA) and Global Medical Services-Digital Technology team has a unique opportunity for an experienced Application Operations Engineer. This role serves as IT owner for multiple applications ensuring uptime and availability to serve business needs. You would drive simplification across the application portfolio.

You would work closely with business stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance with global regulatory agencies ( FDA, MHRA, Health Canada, EMA).

Our Pharmaceutical Diagnostics (PDx) business is a global leader in imaging agents, used to improve and enhance the images that radiologists use to diagnose and monitor disease. We support healthcare professionals in the administration of neurology, cardiology and oncology procedures that are used to image three patients around the world, every second.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Partners with Global teams to provide support, technical guidance, analysis & strategic solutions for the applications in scope.

  • Owns Operational Excellence. Works with production support teams to assist & facilitate resolution of support issues. Monitors production support team deliverables (e.g. SLAs).

  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs

  • Troubleshoot application alerts from monitoring tools and follow SOPs to resolve or escalate appropriately

  • Work directly with service architects to help reproduce and resolve customer issues

  • Drive customer communication during critical events and lead retrospective meetings

  • Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders

  • An understanding of interfaces, middleware and data governance is beneficial

  • An ability to translate business processes to understand how the data flows between systems

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of IT experience with a minimum of 3 years in operations.

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent.

  • Experience in the technology space with emphasis on cloud/online service operations or SaaS/PaaS Technical Support or Application Support

  • Some travel may be required in this role

Desired Characteristics

  • A support analyst background, with extensive experience in solving challenging issues in a time sensitive environment

  • Understanding of ITIL processes

  • Background and experience in emerging technologies in cloud, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS

  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic.

  • Knowledge of Healthcare R&D, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance applications
