General Electric Plant Network Engineer in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania
The Plant Network Engineer is responsible for management and upkeep of all power plant IT / OT systems, including but not limited to business and controls compute, network, and storage infrastructure. In this position, you will be responsible for oversight of the plant control systems and identifying improvements to the facility’s overall thermal and component performance. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
As the Plant Network Engineer, you will:
Oversee, support, and maintain all IT / OT systems at the site, including but not limited to business and controls compute, network, and storage infrastructure
Maintain cyber security protocols on all site IT / OT infrastructure in accordance with GE cyber security standards
Technically support performance of plant monitoring software, including site historian (OSI PI)
Oversee and maintain plant control systems in accordance with vendor recommendations and established plant procedures
Monitor, identify and implement improvements to the facility's overall thermal and component performance
Provide engineering and design assistance to all plant personnel in resolving plant technical problems
Assist in determination of root causes, propose corrective actions, and implement solutions
Contribute to the technical development of planned outage work scopes and schedules
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 3 years of relevant IT and Controls experience
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS :
Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license
Ability and willingness to submit to a physical, respirator and hearing screening upon hire
Ability and willingness to use personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, latex / rubber / leather gloves, safety shoes and respirator) as needed
Proficiency with IT / OT infrastructure systems and administrative software, including but not limited to, Cisco IOS, Windows Server, general compute, network, and storage infrastructure configuration
Proficiency with power plant historian software (OSI PI)
Knowledge of PLC and DCS
Firm understanding of physical networking concepts
Demonstrated record of plant performance improvements
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
