Job Description Summary

The Europe Commercial Director demonstrates accountability for functional, business and broad company objectives. In this role, you will partner with GE Hitachi (GEH) Nuclear sales, commercial operations and product teams and integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The leader will own and influence commercial business operating guidelines and has ownership/influence over budgets and exhibit a high level of commercial judgment required to achieve outcomes required.

Job Description

As Europe Commercial Director, you will:

  • Direct overall leadership for commercial activity in Europe including account strategy, account growth, accountability for commitments and sales targets for the total region and cultivate long-term relationships at all levels of customer organizations and within GE

  • Responsible for obtaining orders and sales by driving and implementing sales strategy with product scope for GE Hitachi Fuels, New units, Decommissioning and Dismantlement (D&D) and GE Hitachi Services

  • Contribute to defining and implementing marketing and commercial strategies to increase orders volume and profitability

  • Actively participate in Demand to Inquiry (DTI) and Inquiry to Order (ITO) processes

  • Leverage cross-functional and cross business resources in order to maximize market penetration. Identify new market opportunities and cross-selling GE products

  • Maintain SalesForce with up-to-date information for current opportunities and pipeline activities.

  • Serve as a conduit for Europe region solutions, detailed understanding of customer’s business model and how GEH’s products and services develop and deliver added value to the customer.

  • Drive Lean in account sales management across the region/country

  • Lead a sales team to of 2 employees to identify opportunities that drive volume growth in all segments of the business function

  • Mentor GE Hitachi Europe sales and services team members in commercial deals, strategy and execution

  • Proactively engage in talent development including succession planning

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

  • 10 years nuclear experience in a Sales or Marketing position

  • Demonstrated understanding of sales account management and contract terms

  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer facilities up to 50% of the time

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior Nuclear or Energy industry sales, services or marketing experience

  • Masters’ degree in Business Administration

  • Knowledge of GEH product line and services

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, experience in Lean and developing standard work

  • Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels, functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex sales information in a clear and concise manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing

  • Clear thinking / problem-solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within sales function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas

  • Working knowledge of GE Hitachi assigned systems and client organization and practices e

  • Knowledge of GEH product line and services

  • Able to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
