General Electric Lead NPI Technician & EMC Experience in Madison, Wisconsin
Job Description Summary
Position supports engineering operations from simple tactical tasks to complex electrical engineering tasks. Must be and expert in system, circuit and EMC testing. Successful candidate must be capable of writing and executing documents such as verification related, problem investigations, technical issue document, test results and more. The position requires minimal travel. The position supports installed base tasks, forward product development and Advance Technical Development tasks.

Performs Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) compliance testing of customer's products primarily tests medical devices and systems per the requirements of IEC 60601-1-2.
Perform tests of customer products per submitted EMC Test Plans and associated standards:
Direct and assist with equipment setup in test chambers per the requirements of the EMC test standards.
Verify product testing power requirements and facility needs.
Review and understand EMC Product Test Plans.
Compile test results and complete EMC Test Reports for submittal to EMC Specialist or Leader.
Assists customers in identifying source of EMC related issues.
Verify proper equipment is used and calibrations are up to date.
Maintain training and competency level required to run equipment and perform testing per the appropriate standards and procedures.
Developing Engineering prototypes in support of NPI and ATD programs
Code in Lab View
Rework and solder fine pitch assemblies.
Troubles shoot simple circuits and suggest changes as necessary.
Network with FEs on critical Customer issues and replicate issues in lab.
Associate degree in Electronics or related field with minimum 5 years experience as an electrical test technician OR minimum 7 years experience as an electrical test technician
Ability to interpret technical writing documents (i.e. Engineering and Manufacturing)
Able to perform strenuous physical activities such as climbing stairs and moving up to 50lb objects

Dependability: Being reliable, responsible, dedicated, committed and fulfilling obligations
Working knowledge of IEC 60601-1-2 and associated standards.
Previous experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited EMC lab
Quality Systems knowledge
Experience working in the medical device industry
Knowledge of process improvement tools (six sigma, Lean, ISO, TQM)
