Job Description Summary
A Support Equipment Module Leader is technical project manager responsible for creating, maintaining, and supporting all the assembly/disassembly and transportation equipment for a given module of the engine. Position includes activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Uses experience to make judgments and provide guidance to team members.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead a design team to execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned engine module assembly equipment using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
Develop or expand upon in-depth knowledge of the assembly of the assigned engine module. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Uses experience to make judgments and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve more challenging tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Knowing, following, and ensuring your team follows all the Support Equipment design processes and requirements.
Developing and improving upon Support Equipment design processes and requirements.
Knowing customer requirements and CTQs
Monitoring schedule, cost, and quality of design deliverables
Supporting manufacturers through prototype builds
Validating and troubleshooting equipment on the shop floor
Working special projects to improve design processes and quality
Occasional travel to support tooling validations or issues
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited university
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOD Security Clearance
Desired Characteristics
Proficient in design, test and analysis tools and systems
Proficient in Stress analysis / stack-up
Experience in the design of assembly and or transportation tooling and equipment.
Experience in engine assembly and or transportation process
Demonstrated ability to coordinate numerous projects simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Established project management skills.
