General Electric Staff Engineer - T901 Turbine Module Leader in Lynn, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

The T901 turbine module leader demonstrates leadership and program/technical accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this key program leadership/strategic role, you will integrate with the technical teams on solving top qualification issues related to design & manufacturing as well as represent the module with the customer (US Army), engines systems, and engine program. Key deliverables include maintaining technical program metrics, act as the clearance focal, team task prioritization, technical mentorship, lead root cause investigations, and integration activities.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements

  • Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements

  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules, and contract commitments

  • Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems

  • Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams; mentor others •Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments

  • Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects and/or tasks

  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university

  • A minimum 5 years of experience in an engineering position

Desired Characteristics

  • Complex component, module or systems level analysis and/or hardware expertise

  • Demonstrated ability to document, plan and manage programs

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in coordination / collaboration

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to guide / mentor and influence others
