Job Description

Plant 4 technical process ownership for critical structural components for aircraft

Engines. Specific focus on machining (milling, turning, etc) and part assemblies (welding, bolting, brazing, etc.).

  • Define, improve, and control Plant 4 production process including tooling and equipment.

  • Mentor, coach, and develop Plant 4 Manufacturing and Quality Engineers.

  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.

  • Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.

  • Communicate across direct organization.

  • Connect the dots across technologies and develop cross-technology solutions.

  • Work on cross-functional projects / teams to deliver technology solutions for the business.

  • Communicate across the function in area of expertise.

  • Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness & equipment capability.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years technical experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Production Process and Equipment

Desired Characteristics :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

  • Prior experience with machining (milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc.) of high temperature alloys.

  • Self-motivated to get the solution with reasonable amount of time and financial support

  • Communicate effectively with operators, peers, and management, in both written and oral manners

  • Six Sigma or equivalent Quality training

  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions using structured methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), five-why, Kepner Tregoe (KT), etc.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously

  • Ability to work in a matrix organization

  • Strong influencing skills

  • Corporate Training Program graduate (manufacturing/operations/engineering) (GE employees only)
