General Electric Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Lynn, Massachusetts

Job Description Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will manage manufacturing projects and provide a strategic outlook on project management and process improvement across the site. You should have a comprehensive in-depth understanding of complex and highly technical manufacturing concepts and principles.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Technical process ownership for critical rotating parts / components for aircraft engines

  • Specific focus on machining (milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc). with additional attention on critical special processes (ie: shotpeen)

  • Define, improve, and control plant production process including tooling and equipment

  • Mentor, coach, and develop site Manufacturing and Quality Engineers

  • Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment

  • Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods

  • Communicate across direct organization, site management team and across the business function

  • Connect the dots across technologies and develop cross-technology solutions

  • Work on cross-functional projects / teams to deliver technology solutions for the business

  • Translate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield effectiveness and equipment capability

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or institution

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Production or Process Improvement

  • Prior experience in manufacturing operations

  • Possess leadership capabilities

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to influence and mentor others and lead small teams
