Job Description Summary
The Plant Quality Leader is responsible for the overall product quality review associated with manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will drive the plant’s tactical and strategic Quality Improvement Plan, and collaborate with other Plant Quality Leaders and the Site Quality Leader on all Quality related activities and initiatives.
Lead a team of Quality engineers in meeting business requirements for quality assurance and control of aviation hardware
Manage cross function coordination across business units, engineering and programs teams
Interaction with military and commercial customer and regulators
Continuous improvement of the quality processes and policies and mentoring of all employees to those processes
Strong focus on delivery of quality products on time to customers
Drive preventive and corrective actions to assure product compliance to specification
Work cooperatively with the operations team to identify systemic quality issues within the plant and develop robust root cause corrective actions
Execute strategies related to quality assurance and quality control of products, services, and manufacturing processes
Ownership includes both quality assurance and quality control
Manage quality assurance of products, services, and manufacturing processes
Manage conformance in manufacturing, incoming goods control, product inspection, witness points, etc.
Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services
Develop relationships and work with key customers
Bachelor degree from an accredited college or institution
A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality or manufacturing
Aviation experience preferred
Shop floor experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience managing others
Quality Management System experience
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
Established project management skills
