Job Description Summary

In this position you will perform any and all cell support duties including, but not limited to, coolant management, machine lubrication and cleaning, parts cleaning and general shop housekeeping. This position requires that you have at least 1 year of experience running a manual or CNC grinding machine. Pay for this role is going to be $26.50 with an additional $1 per hour if on an off shift.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and operate all types of numerically controlled and manual grinding and related machine tools

  • Perform complicated precision operations to close tolerances working from blueprints, complicated drawings, verbal and written instructions, sketches, and operation sheets

  • Complete inspection of major and minor parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies and components to determine the accuracy of workmanship and functional performance

  • Dimensional inspection of parts and assemblies, including identification of non-conformance characteristics per instructions / procedures with improvised setups using height gauges, surface plates, indicators, etc.

  • Perform any and all cell support duties including, but not limited to, coolant management, machine lubrication and cleaning, parts cleaning and general shop housekeeping

  • Required to work with minimum supervision

  • Perform other duties as required


  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Minimum 1 year of CNC and/or manual grind experience


  • Ability to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and component hardware up to 40 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodations)

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to verify and inspect own work using micrometers, plug gauges, height gauge and surface plates

  • Ability to run both CNC and manual equipment concurrently as required

  • Ability to work under general direction with minimal supervision

  • Excellent attendance history

  • Ability to produce error free products

  • Accurately completes paperwork

  • Strives to meet or exceed job requirements

  • Experience with machining high temp material (inconel, stainless, titanium, etc.)

  • CMM operating experience

  • Experience machining to aerospace standards and specifications

  • Ability to work from and follow written instruction precisely (MOS, routers, engineering drawings)

  • Set-up experience and ability to load offsets and perform program edits
