Roles and Responsibilities
Individuals located at manufacturing sites and fixed facilities (e.g., a service shop or O&M site) that provide day-to-day EHS support for that facility.
Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.
Ensures compliance of site operations with regulatory requirements related to environmental, Health and Safety impacts.
Performs site EHS training, maintaining of EHS records, implementing, and updating site procedures and utilizing GE software systems for EHS file maintenance.
Conduct EHS audits on the shop floor on a routine basis.
Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control workplace health hazards.
Lead injury and illness tracking, case management along with root cause analysis.
Evaluate Logistics area annually and rate the assigned area in accordance with GE EHS standards and requirements
Maintain site EHS procedures in accordance with federal and state regulations, and GE requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)
Minimum 3 years experience in EHS
