Job Description Summary
As an integrated process improvement leader, the engineering Lean Practitioner will lead and manage process improvements across GE Aerospace’s Defense Engines organization. Responsibilities will include identifying, developing, and leading projects/process improvements to ensure on time delivery, increased productivity, and new productivity strategies for the engineering team.
The role will lead in defining transformative Lean projects and programs across a diverse product portfolio including the military Turbofan/Turbojet organization. There will be a focus on transactional process enhancements that improve quality, productivity and effectiveness of cross functional teams.

Roles and Responsibilities
Identify, Develop, and Execute process improvement projects and initiatives, including methods, tools, roadmap systems, and deployment.
Present product / program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks and recommendations to senior leaders
Communicate recommendations and solutions across direct organization and with cross-functional partner organizations.
Develop action plans and research planning both on an annual basis as well as a longer term 3–5-year horizon.
Integrate across product lines to develop synergy in processes, tools, and products.
Impact the team’s ability to achieve delivery, quality and timeliness of objectives.
Work with a cross functional team on complex technological solutions
Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or institution
Minimum of 5 years in process improvement in engineering, or transactional processes
