Job Description Summary
The Control Systems Engineer is responsible for leading and supporting the design, implementation, and testing of application software for T901/FARA engine controls, including control algorithms and engine health monitoring/prognostics functions.
Software implementation using the SCADE Tool Suite, an integrated design environment for requirements management, model-based design, simulation, verification, and qualifiable /certified code generation.
Knowledge of requirements management tools like DOORS/DNG and configuration management (RTC/JIRA/Synergy/GIT)
Experience in developing and implementing linear and nonlinear controls design techniques.
Hands on experience using controls tools in Matlab/Simulink/python.
Experience in software / system verification through desktop simulation, hardware-in-the-loop lab tests (Dry Rig Controls Simulator), engine testing and flight testing
Develop models to evaluate system performance, engine and component control system response and conduct trade studies Support T901 Engine, Component, and System Qualification with the Army Customer
Develop, implement, and test algorithms for engine health monitoring functions of the engine control system
Support development and implementation of embedded engine cycle model
Manage data recording and/or transfer for onboard and/or offboard data processing
Integrate engine health signals with the rest of the control system and the airframe with proper documentation through interface control documents
Experience with military or commercial software development and certification process (DO-178C and related commercial software certification standards for safety critical embedded software)
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and process improvements and communicate to leadership
Provide technical leadership to personnel / cross functional teams supporting assigned projects
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures with a path towards US Military qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering role
