General Electric Lead Innovation Engineer in Lunderskov, Denmark

Job Description Summary

We are looking for an Innovation Engineer to help develop new concepts for blade production Equipment, Tools and Molds.

Activities aimed at proving a concept and innovation strategy to be valid or technically feasible by the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. Work in this family typically has the objective of demonstrating through test or analyses the performance and implementation potential of a concept.

You need to be highly innovative and help us design the future equipment to produce wind turbine blades.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ideate Patentable concepts in line with Innovation Strategy.

  • Develop concepts into commercially viable product offerings that fit the current and future product portfolio in accordance with the concept stage gate development process.

  • Preparation and documentation of a final New Product Development handover package in the form of source data and design rules.

  • Investigate new / emerging technologies, innovations and opportunities, increase company knowledge and gather Insight.

  • Presentation of Innovation / concepts to steering committee

  • Filter and check feasibility of concepts.

  • Communication with external / open innovation sources.

  • Time and resource planning.

  • Preparation of Patent Disclosure and assist Intellectual Property (IP) function to secure filing / grant of patent.

  • Development of innovation / concept in a cost efficient and timely manner and in accordance with the stage gate process

  • Development of Proof of Principle, Proof of Concept and Prototype models.

  • Regular reporting of project status and attend regular project reviews.

  • Assist in the handover of developed concepts. Attend appropriate stage gate meetings. Provide support to Research and Development (R&D) function where required.

  • Propose production test methods and draft Product Design Specification

  • Keep up to date with latest technological developments, i.e. attending at trade shows, cooperating with universities, attending training sessions, etc..

  • Assist in the delivery of department and company objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in an applicable engineering product development role

  • Competent in use of design software

  • Working knowledge of manufacture and assembly.

  • Good communications skills and computer literate.

  • Must be willing to travel up to 40 days pr. year

Desired Characteristics

Good knowledge of LEAN principles

  • Experience in automotive or and wind industry
