General Electric Lead Engineer, M&ET in Lunderskov, Denmark
Job Description Summary
As part of the global M&ET team of LM Windpower, this role will develop, deliver and optimize automated equipment and technologies for the manufacturing of wind turbine blades. Within the responsibilities of the role on site is, but not limited to, supporting and (in some cases) leading the development of new automated equipment and tooling, ranging from basic mechanical devices through to robotics, with the support of the global M&ET team. Within this role, you will also be ensuring that new automated equipment on site is setup as per specification, technical EHS demands are followed, assist onsite in RCA’s where line equipment may be involved and reduce cost related to the line equipment – this includes assisting in setting up local suppliers to support on line equipment issues. You will be able to work with key automation suppliers of equipment to bring benefits, and ensure the equipment technology of LM is reliable, robust and (where required) cutting edge.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead automation projects within M&ET and help develop and maintain a strategy for Automation and Industrialization 4.0.
Bring expertise in supporting major industrial manufacturing equipment, to ensure suitable development and utilization of equipment and technology to improve manufacturing
Act as the technical LE support / leader on M&ET projects, where your input will determine the factors needing to be addressed with new equipment and technology.
Responsible for assisting in setting up best practices, standard procedures, specifications and processes that enable M&ET to deliver equipment to the highest level in an agile environment, ensuring (but not limited to) Cost-Out, EHS and compliance demands.
Required Qualifications
- Master or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Desired Characteristics
5+ years with practical & hands-on experience related to large automation projects for manufacturing equipment. Background in composites or blades especially useful, but not essential. Other industries of interest would be aerospace, automotive, marine systems, blade manufacturing equipment, CE directive utilization
Robust knowledge of key concepts of automation equipment development, industrialization 4.0, risk assessments
English spoken and written
A proactive “can-do” attitude, problem solving mentality
Ability to keep organised, and multi-task on projects/work segments where required
Project management expertise is advantages
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic area is desirable
