Job Description Summary
Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, Drive installation projects with a specialty in moulds and line equipment, however not excluding other projects. Planning and executing the activities and securing proactive communication to main stakeholders.
Lead an engineering project team with the target to mature and de-risk the new technology to meet the standards for safety, quality, cycle time and cost.
Define the scope of the project in collaboration with involved parties
Can work together with engineers and technicians at the shopfloor, workshops, and plants. Ability to listen, discuss, learn, and guide.
Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
Develop project plans and determine the resources required to complete the project
Select staff and qualified supplier with appropriate skills for the project activities
Establish and maintain a usable project plan considering (time, cost, scope, quality, and risk)
Coordinate activities with internal and external resources
Manage mould/equipment transfer and installations to the shortest possible time
Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
Ensure that the new technology, equipment and moulds are developed and de-risked and can meet targets for safety, quality, cycle time and cost before plant implementation.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills. Communication with direct colleagues and the business about project development and coordination services rendered. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customers and providers inside and outside GE. Good skills in explaining technical information to others.
