The CNC Specialist - Programmer will perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line in the machine shop and assembly, including Repair Shop. This role requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies. It requires willingness to learn new programming languages and flexibility to adjust to business needs.
In this role, you will:
Generate NC Programs from SolidWorks / CAMWorks
Utilize augmented reality system to create process planning and support revisions of production planning as appropriate for process changes
Create or modify CMM programs using MCosmos
Read and understand process operation sheets, tooling sheets, tech plans, blueprints, sketches or verbal instruction to produce development or production hardware
Use measuring equipment, such as micrometers, caliper and gauges to inspect and record data
Troubleshoot process issues, support production and provide direction to other employees involved with development and production
Understand cell production, part and process flow and have a desire to apply lean concepts
Be an active contributing member of a high performance, self-directed work team with minimum supervision
Successfully complete applicable special processes and operator certification requirements and all required compliance training
Perform tasks that require manual dexterity

GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Qualifications/Requirements:
Associate’s Degree in a technical field from an accredited school or institution OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience in the troubleshooting and setup of CNC / NC machines
Minimum 2 years of experience coding CAM / SolidWorks for CNC machines ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Functional knowledge of blueprint reading, including GD&T
Functional experience in tool and fixture design
Ability and willingness to lift up to 25 pounds as required
Flexibility to work off shifts Desired Characteristics:
Familiarity with one or more of the following materials: stainless steel, aluminum, Inconel
Prior experience in UG / NX and programming CNC machines
Prior experience with CNC lathes and mills, especially Okuma, Mazak, Multus, and/or Haas machines
Preferred – experience coding CNC machines, CMM machines or light guide systems
Proven ability to demonstrate external focus, clear thinking, inclusiveness, expertise, imagination & courage
