General Electric Quality Control Scientist in Logan, Utah
The QC Scientist position distinguishes itself through collaboration and high emphasis on new method development and raw material/final product analysis requirements. In addition, this position works in close collaboration with the GE Healthcare Technologies team, Product Managers, and Quality partners to, among other things, develop new methodologies to support product lead time reduction and customer requirements.
•Combining knowledge of chemistry/biochemistry/biology to deliver new test methods
•Evaluating and extending new concepts as well as providing innovations which can be developed
into new product advantages through new and emerging analytical capabilities.
•Using broad expertise in chemistry/biochemistry/biology to help resolve urgent issues with current products and test methods
The QC Scientist will work in a bioprocessing laboratory focused on the development andimprovement of QC test methodologies to support the business directives for raw materials, cell culture media, process liquids and buffers.
Lead portions of or entire method development projects as assigned. This includes design, executionand analysis of experiments to support the qualification and validation of new methods or the improvement of current methods.
Responsibilities may also include training others the new methods/equipment and troubleshooting experiments
Some travel (<10%) may be required to assist in the transfer of methods to other Cell Culture sites.

Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
Relevant work experience should meet the following threshold levels. 5+ for BS, 2+ years for MS or completion of PhD Desired Characteristics:
Masters or PhD degree in in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
Previous cell culture media development or industrial bioprocess experience
Demonstrated record of innovation in the area of scientific expertise
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Quality Assurance/Control processes in a Pharmaceutical environment
Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
