General Electric Quality Technician in Little Rock, Arkansas

Role Summary:

The Quality Technician works from prints, tables, specification, and acceptance criteria / data to layout and inspect a wide variety of parts, materials, components, and/or supplies as directed in any company area, ensuring the integrity of the Global Quality Management System is maintained at all times in regards to the firewall process and any related quality assurance processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Quality Technician, you will:

  • Ensure integrity of the quality records and QCR system by administering methods of accuracy and completeness

  • Act as a member of the LM Quality team to enhance our ability to produce "defect free" blades

  • Enter quality data into the company database and properly fill-out quality defect reports / email results to proper stakeholders (if applicable)

  • Act as a consultant on the interpretation of the Work Instructions and their applications for the operations team at the facility

  • Follow prescribed environmental, health and safety (EHS) rules and regulations

  • Perform functions as determined by the company, which include items related to safety and 5S

  • Perform material or chemical inspections to ensure product meets LM purchase specification and operational usage parameters

  • Use gauges, measuring equipment and other detection methods to ensure the parts and/or products are within desired specification

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in a related technology / science field from an accredited university or college

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability and willingness to maintain less than 3.5 points on attendance record

  • Ability and willingness to obtain QC certification in molding and/or post molding (dependent on assignment) after the first 3-6 months of training per to the BMS Control Instruction with the ability to be recertified every 2 years

  • Ability and willingness to submit to a color contract differentiation examination, required to demonstrate capability for distinguishing and differentiating contrast among colors used in the method

  • Ability and willingness to perceive an Ortho-Rater minimum of 8 (20/25) or similar test pattern

  • Near vision acuity for natural or corrected near-distance acuity in at least one eye

  • Ability and willingness to lift and/or carry objects or materials up to 25 lbs

  • Ability and willingness to stand for extended periods on concrete floors

  • Ability and willingness to wear a respirator to filter out toxic fumes and dust

  • Ability and willingness to make quick or repeated movements with hands, arms, legs, or body

Desired Characteristics:

  • Understanding of metric system and use of metric measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, depth gauges, protractors)

  • Basic math and computer spreadsheet / database skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Ability to read work blueprints / instructions
