Job Description Summary

We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Associate Product Manager, reporting to the Product Line Leader for Monitoring & Diagnostics (M&D).

The M&D product line is a class leading vendor of sensing devices and systems to Electrical Utilities and Industrial customers. The product line spans sensing of multiple asset types and has a broad portfolio of advanced technology, which aid customers to understand and optimize the operating condition of key assets such as HV/MV power transformers and circuit breakers.

Leveraging your strong technical expertise and creative thinking, you will work transversely with Product Management and Engineering colleagues across the product portfolio and will interface with key customers globally to assist in developing product requirements, market research, and support material. Ultimately, you will work to develop products and features that fill gaps in the market and increase customer satisfaction.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with colleagues to develop product requirements, specifications, and roadmaps, to improve user experience and portfolio differentiation

  • Understand industry trends, market dynamics, standards/regulatory developments, customer needs and competitive landscape, including maintaining competitive positioning collateral

  • Participate in new product evaluation projects, including conducting market research, technology evaluations and voice of customer discussions

  • Coordinate marketing & promotional activities across the Product Management group

  • Create support and training documents for internal and external users

  • Provide support to Engineering and Support teams on NPI system testing and customer case support

Required Qualifications

The product portfolio touches a broad range of technical disciplines, including Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Software and Data Science. As such applications will be welcome from candidates who have either:

  • a Degree or above in a Science or Engineering discipline from an accredited college or university, plus a minimum of 2 years practical working experience (inclusive of internships or degree placements)

  • or, an HND/BTEC or equivalent Engineering qualification, plus 4 or more years experience working directly in the field of Monitoring & Diagnostic products, or in a demonstrably similar field

Desired Characteristics & Expertise

  • Basic knowledge of electrical power systems and changing grid dynamics

  • Strong oral/written English language skills. Other languages beneficial but not mandatory

  • Experience planning, monitoring, and executing programs of work/study

  • Customer focused and proactive, with a continuous improvement / problem solving mindset

  • Ability to work within a team and under own supervision. Appreciates importance of cross- functional work to deliver on business priorities and improve organizational dynamics

  • Ability to understand and present new concepts clearly and effectively to colleagues and customers

  • Open to global travel

  • Strong productivity software skills, including on spreadsheet and business presentation tools

  • Past experience of business improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc, preferred but not mandatory
