General Electric Project Document Controller (Pipeline building for Potential Role) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Job Description Summary

Ensure compliance with the Quality and EHS rules from the project, business, sector and corporate within the Project.

The Project Document Controller supports the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) and the project engineering team and executes the document controller task accurately and on time.

Job Description

He/she ensures absolute discretion regarding any information dealt with in the course of his/her duties.

  • Manages and support PEM to release the internal project documents/drawings transmittal submission to customer/partner via PPDM

  • Maintain and register all incoming and outgoing transmittal to customer in the Internal MDL & Customer Master Document List (CMDL)

  • Generate the PTS Report on MDL and prepare the Project MDL Report for submission to customer as per the agreed template

  • Support PEM to manage the comment reply from GE/Partner to customer and follow-up with the respective comment reply owners on the closure of the customer comments

  • Support PEM on the Document Management Procedures and other general specifications

  • Support PEM on setting up the PTS and PCDMS tool

  • Support PEM on Partner’s PTS folder creation

  • Support PEM on the distribution and follow-up of all engineering internal and external correspondences via PCDMS.

  • Support PEM in the coordination and compilation of the As Built documentation and submission of the As Built documentation to customer


  • Diploma or Degree holder

Specific knowledge and skills:

  • PC literate (MSWord / Excel / PowerPoint)

  • Good command of written & spoken English

  • Ability to work independently and possess excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills

  • Able to work in a team-working environment with minimum supervision
