Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • As a Lightning Protection Engineer, you will have the responsibility for providing technical expertise for new products, process and development initiatives, while working in cross functional environment and proactively maintain interfaces with supply chain, blade test center’s product integrity and service

  • You will contribute and support technology development projects for blade lightning protection systems (LPS), improve existing products, support production plants, develop and mature inspection, retrofit and repair methods

  • You are self-motivated and resourceful, have great experience and Craftmanship and manage to take a proactive approach in working/ driving tasks with cross functional project teams.

  • We expect that you have capacity for supporting the development, execution, and management of technical deliverables until successful implementation and finalization of product.

  • You are robust and have personal drive, and are process oriented with demonstrated problem-solving skills, and excellent understanding of quality assurance methodology during development and execution.

  • It is a prerequisite that you can travel as & if required to our different locations in Europe, Asia, and Americas.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, aeronautical, electrical engineering or physics

  • 5 years of experience in engineering development projects.

Desired Characteristics

  • A MSc degree or PhD in electrical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Skilled in electrical component design calculations, drawings, specifications, and schematics.

  • +5 years of industry experience, preferred from wind turbine industry, preferable in lightning protection.

  • Experience in the use of Simulation Technics based on Finite Elements for Electro Magnetic transient events. Software for Multiphysics Simulation like COMSOL is a plus.

  • Practical hands-on design experience in the development, factory, or field operations.

  • Used to work according to international codes and standards for electrical components and applications.

  • Used to deal with industrial suppliers (national and international).

  • Proven ability to work in team in a cross-functional and global environment.

  • Proficient presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Positive mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective problem-solving skills: identification, evaluation and solution.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

  • Structured approach to problem solving.
