Job Description Summary
Project Management/ Planning/ Coordinating activities typically in the context of a production or services project to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities
All activities related to the supervision, organization and execution of a service project, including scope, time, contract (if not covered by a dedicated Contract Manager) cost & quality management. Responsibility for project methodologies and standards including scheduling and control , to fulfill a customer order or need according to financial/commercial parameters and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Ensure at all times compliance with EHS requirement during project execution phase
Successfully manage Hydro Service projects, while driving quality, cost, and schedule strategies in compliance with GE guidelines
Build strong relationships between the customer and GE through demonstrated successes in the execution of Projects and technical positioning
In collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager and Regional Service Director, provide business development support in line with Services strategy
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in engineering (Mechanical or electrical) and /or project management accreditation
Minimum 5 years professional experience as a project manager of Engineering, Procurement and Construction contracts
Experience with rotating machinery or hydro equipment, able to read drawings and understand mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, understanding of system potential failure modes
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in a commercial role or commercial proposal development role
Engineering or Field Operation work experience is valued
Knowledge of the Hydro customers in the area is valued
Project Management Professional certification is desirable
